I’ve always dreamed of opening a bookstore — something like Karl Lagerfeld’s famous shop in Paris, where he could pick the titles to stock (but didn’t have to sit behind the counter). I’m not Lagerfeld — not yet, anyway — but who says I can’t choose the books?
This isn’t a store. Nothing here is for sale. These are books I’ve held in my hands and genuinely recommend. Some are old, some are new, some are strange — but all of them made me pause, underline something, or carry them around longer than I expected.
Each entry comes with a short note — sometimes just a sentence, sometimes more. You’ll find links to local libraries, independent shops, or wherever I think you might be able to find a copy. Think of it as a shelf from a bookstore that doesn’t exist. Not yet.
